Night Performers

A performer is someone who uses their skills; amuse and entertain spectators. Odd performers are those people who have some extraordinary talent or skill and use it to entertain crowd of people. Listed below are some such peculiar performances.

Night Performers

fire dancing
Night performers are those people who through their antics amuse people at wee hours of the night. These involve all kind of performances ranging from drama, theatre, dance, stand-up comedy, circus, singing and much more. At times the best of talents has been noticed through these platforms; who then later make it big in their respective field of art. These podiums become a point of entertainment for the audience; but for the performing artist it is a source of income and a stage of showing their talents to the world.

Dance

Dance is said to be a way in which the body expresses its self. A form of art which is applauded by all but with precision can be performed by few only. If fire enters this expression, then it becomes a talent with danger which requires a lot of practice. Fire dancing has now become a separate branch of dancing, learned, practiced and enjoyed by many. Basically, it involves the use of such equipment which has wicks attached where fire is erupted, using these equipment as props while dancing gives the entire scene a visually amazing look created by fire. Fire is now used in many forms of dancing, be it classical, juggling, contemporary, and twirling. One of the most dangerous forms is to eat and breathe fire between performances.

Contortionist

Another rare form of dancing or specifically art is contortion-ism. This is basically the art of bending the body, contortionist display flexibility of their body by turning and bending them in various angles. These performances are given in front of live crowds who are mostly awestruck after viewing the moves of the artist. This form has also been incorporated in almost all dance forms and is done both; in the form of troupes and individually. The flexibility shown is to an extent where it seems as if the performer has no bones in their body. These artists from a very young age start practicing and developing such moves which give their body and muscles such unusual tractability.

Both of the above-mentioned forms of art are fun to watch and applaud but are extremely dangerous to perform. As fire is one hazardous element and then dancing with it is an extremely risky work, which require precision as one wrong move than result in high degree burns. In the same manner one wrong move while bending or twisting in contortionism can bend or break bones and result in injuries which cannot be cured.

These artists reach to this point after a lot of hard work and immense practice. Therefore, apart from clapping and rejoicing on their skills, one should respect them with full heart as they risk their lives and bodies every day to provide pleasure to many and earn money.

ER Nurses and the late night Hospital Staff

Just like the security guards on night watch and the chef cooking your favorite breakfast dish, or the baker making your early morning bagel roll, ER Nurses work hard late in the night to protect lives while we’re all snoozing away in our beds. They are always on guard for late night emergencies; no matter how late.

Late night work is a common practice among medical practitioners in hospitals and clinics, not just for ER Nurses. While the responsibilities for both day and night ER workers may remain unchanged, however, the night shift is usually more challenging. This is because of the slow-paced atmosphere around the hospital, as well as the condition of the body during odd night hours calls for a lot of adjustment as they (ER nurses) constantly have to fight against a natural schedule. Two major problems confront them- getting a lot of sleep during day time (which is not easy), and staying alert at work during late night hours (which is even more difficult).

Sleeping a lot during the day will often lead to irritability issues which can potentially result to even more severe medical conditions involving the heart, blood or muscles. Likewise, sleep deprivation at night also exposes ER nurses to mistakes like giving out the wrong dosage or something even worse. Notwithstanding, we need our ER nurses as well as our security guards on patrol and other night workers because life wouldn’t be the same without them.

So, if you are an emergency nurse who does the late night thing, there is need for you to work out your own survival just like you are helping others survive. Here are some advices to help you stay healthy and alert, notwithstanding your night challenging job.

Create a schedule and stick to it

Once you program yourself to sleep during day and stay awake at night, do everything possible to stick to it. Even when on holidays, stick to your schedule. With time, your body system will learn to adapt to it.

Get enough light

Light signals helps to keep your brain alert. So, whenever you’re at work, try to expose yourself to a lot of light. If possible, keep a light box around. This will help you to stay alert.

Create time for your Family

Making out time to be with loved ones when working a night job can be a challenge because, you are probably going to be less active during the day. Family is very important, so you have to make out time your kids. Talk to your kids about your work, and let them know why it’s important for you to sleep most of the time during the day. Set times to be in their company, including your husband.

Keep yourself busy

The slow paced atmosphere in the night can be very dull. If you must stay active, then you must look for ways to keep busy. When there is no more work to do, you can do some extra work to relieve the nurses that will be working during the day.

Thanks again for keeping the night watch and our cities funtioning.

A quick check in and thank you to an unexpected night warrior

It’s been a little bit since I had a chance to sit down and post. Summer has just been crazy busy with flights across the country and family camping trips etc.. I’m sure most of you had a similar summer, so don’t judge, lol.

A few months back I started this blog to give tribute to the individuals who work nights in industries across the board. I started by paying tribute to our public workers such as Police, Firemen and EMT. This group has very strenuous job and all so we can be safe and enjoy, life.

As I post more here on this blog we will get into the Artists that keep us intrigued and entertained.

The private businesses such as restaurants and bars, to include experiences with employees, that helped ensure we had a fun time.

Taxi cabs, Uber, Lift all the above, this set of private businesses help us get home safe and often the rides make for a few good stories 🙂

Today I have to post about an unexpected category, one I didn’t plan on, but through a recent personal experience I have to recognize this often overlooked category.

I was in Florida this past month visiting Friends who recently moved close to Sarasota. What beautiful part of the country, tons of culture and miles of beach.  We had a fun trip, there is so much to do there and the beach we rented a house on was incredible, Siesta Beach is likely the best beach I’ve ever visited.

What a cool town the attractions were something else. We visited The Ringling, which was the old home of the Ringling Brothers Circus guy. They have an amazing museum which had art of all kinds. Some he and his wife collected and some newer, a big Asian art section and a beautiful garden of roses outside.

From there we visited the Mote Aquarium, what an amazing place. They have ths huge Shark tank, yeah the kid loved that, well it was my favorite also. But the manatee’s and the stingrays you could pet were pretty sweet also.

Well it had been a long day and well past dark when we finished dinner and we’re driving back to our rental home. As the kid was asleep in the back and the wife and I laughing about the events of the day, Bam! A rear tire blew. I mean it was loud, woke the boy and all. Well we made it over to the side of HWY 41 and had to think quick. well you know we had to figure out a solution, quick or not  🙂

Thankfully, cell service was good, so we called the rental company who were Jonny on the spot! They assured us they knew just who to call and they would be at our location shortly. So we stayed on the phone negotiating a bit until the tow truck got there. We ended up with a pretty sweet deal 🙂

But thenn we come down to the night time warrior, or at least I would nominate them 🙂 the Tow Truck Drivers. Seriously, I know sometimes we have a chip on our shoulder against them, well that’s if you parked in a no parking zone 🙁 But, when we need them well they sure do come in handy 🙂

Let alone the horror stories of strange drivers and shady deals. In reality these are some of the best characters to deal with. Yeah I’m sure there are the shady bunch, as with anything. But most work 24/7 and are always available for the motorist in trouble.

The driver that showed up was incredibly professional and super helpful. He even had a candy bar for the kid. He found a new best friend. He quickly got our tire changed, which of course was a small dinky spare, He went above and beyond to follow us down the road to our exit. Being we were only staying a few blocks off the highway, it made everyone feel a lot better. Knowing if something happened to the joke of a spare, he would be there to help. If your ever n Sarasota and need tow vistit this towing company site for excellent service. Thanks again!

The next day the rental company gladly exchanged our car and we were off to play at the beach once again 🙂

Again, I wasn’t planning a blog recognizing tow truck drivers as night time warriors, but after ths experience I couldn’t help it.

If you have any suggestions or great stories please send them our way. We would be glad to review and share if they are appropriate, think PG-13.

Until next post, have a great Night Life!

The ones who allow us to enjoy the night safely!

Full Moon Performers

When we talk about full moon performers we have to mention the ones that are at our service, day or night.  So this article will focus on the public servant specifically here in Boise Idaho. Future article s will focus on events, businesses and artists. However, since the jobs described in this post are so important for a properly functioning community, I felt it important to pay tribute right up for this special group.

One of these extremely important professions and ultimately public servant is the Police Department. I represent Boise Idaho so I a big thanks to the Boise Police Department. As well as the partnering cities and state troopers. You all do a fantastic job at keeping our community safe.

Sometimes feel they don’t get the respect they deserve. Check out their statistics here which they have posted through 2015. Some trends they should be proud of and we should be thankful of include burglaries are at a record low and continue to decline. As well crashes involving Bikes were at a five-year low, showing the awareness campaigns have made a significant impact. Overall more people are calling for service while 911 calls are down. While arrests are up by nearly 14% for both felony and misdemeanors, good job BPD!

**** Thanks a Ton Blue!!!****

Fire Fighters would be the next profession to come to mind, at least my mind.

We have an excellent Department here in Boise who is not only very responsive but involved in the community. They are continuously expanding due to this areas rapid growth. In fact they will be breaking ground on Station No. 8 June 30th 2016. Congrats and we look forward to the new LEED certified station.

Many people don’t realize how much goes into a Fire Department. Of course we have the Chief then also the Operations and the Fire Prevention.

The Operations side consist of numerous engine companies, 16 at this point. Three truck Companies and Three ARFF or airplane response vehicles. Those fires get hot! There are over 250 firefighters at 17 stations. Their coverage area spans 125 sq miles with 218,000 residents. The Operations side includes multiple divisions such as EMS, Logistics, Training and Special Operations. Special Ops here in Boise consists of a Dive Team, Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighters, Tech Rescue and HazMat. None of which sound like your everyday 9-5. A big thank you to you and the entire Fire Department. These guys stay busy, responding to nearly 23,000 calls in 15’.

The Fire Prevention side is made up of positions involving public education and safety. A highly important part of creating a safer community. Rather it’s the Fire Inspector or the permits office without these proactive positions we would probably see many, many more fires here in Boise Idaho. They run programs to educate the youth on the dangers of fire and to respond if in a fire Situation. Other services such as Wildfire Mitigation, which is extremely important in the high desert region we live in.

In my area we have a ton of wild fires every year, high desert right. Well let’s not forget the Forest Fire Fighters who literally work all night long… They sleep on the ground and eat camp style for weeks. So hats off to your fine folks, both men and women.

****Thanks a Million Red and Yellow***

The other not so celebrated and poorly paid. Yet, highly valuable professionals are our local Paramedics or ambulance drivers and technicians. Assisting the above professions in emergency and non-emergency situations each and every day.

We absolutely appreciate your diligent work and dedication in keeping our injured and troubled citizens to a hospital ASAP. I know you get paid less than you should and many of you work two jobs or own businesses you run on off hours.

Personally I recently encountered a fantastic paramedic. We had been in a car accident, not our fault I swear J Either way, my wife had a non-life threatening injury. But you would have thought she was ready to die J A gentleman named Jim was extremely compassionate yet no BS. He calmed my wife down assed the situation and secured her injuries. They rushed us out to the local ER and she was taken great care of.

On our ride I started talking Jim and he explained this was his night job and he ran a business on his off hours. I was blown away, how do some people do it. He must work 18 hours a day and he had a wife and kids. I couldn’t help but ask about his business and I just became his next client. He runs a great crew of lawn care experts in Boise and I would absolutely recommend giving him a call or click to visit his Boise lawn care site.  Jim was a stand up guy and handled our situation very well. Once I called him for service he was prompt and had someone out to my property the same day. He was working his paramedic job, lol. That’s cool cause I know his attitude and drive is threaded throughout his life to include his company.

I think we have a great community and many of us think of all night performers as entertainers, events clubs and the like. But honestly we can’t have any of those things, at least in the long term if the professionals listed above did not serve our community. So I thought before this blog get into the more entertaining and fun aspects of night life we needed to pay tribute to the ones that allow us to enjoy the rest of life.

There are many more public serving positions who work late at night or even overnight, and we appreciate you all. I will try to touch on these professions as this blog progresses. I don’t get paid for this, so I cn only type for so long, however much I like it J

Until next time, thanks for reading the blog and please send your comments or suggestions for blog posts to info@fullmoonperformers.com
